 HUDSON BAY POINT BLANKET IMP. ENGLAND - Woven in England of select wools, the Hudson's Bay Point Blankets are made to the same exacting specifications as they were over 200 years ago through a blend of old world processes and modern technology.
First offered for trade in 1670, Point Plankets were so highly prized by Native Americans that they became important articles of trade - each short line, or "point" - woven into the edge of the blanket indicated the number of beaver pelts to be exchanged for the blanket. Today, points are still woven into the blanket as an historical reference and to indicate the size of the blanket.
