     Woven in England of select wools, the Hudson's Bay Point Blankets are made to the same exacting specifications as they were over 300 years ago through a blend of old world processes and modern technology.      The genuine Hudson's Bay Point Blanket is not only unmatched in its craftsmanship and durability, but also has a heritage and authenticity without peer.
     First offered for trade in 1670, Point blankets were so highly prized by Native Americans that they became important articles of trade - each short line or "point" woven into the edge of the blankets indicated the number of beaver pelts to be exchanged for the blanket. Today, points are still woven into the blankets as an historical reference and to indicate the size of the blanket.

     From 1861-1865, the Army troops of the Civil War kept warm under Woolrich^® Blankets. These are authentic reproductions of the blankets relied upon in the battlefields and made by the same woolen mill that is still in operation today in Woolrich, Pennsylvania.
